So happy our #weekendroundup is back!! With the rise in COVID-19 cases here in AZ, it is looking like most events will be continuing to be virtual for the time being. There are definitely some great options. If you're looking to get out of the house the Drive-In Puppet Show being offered by the @greatazpuppets is a great option! Growing up in the 6th largest city in the country provided lots of adventures and memories. Some for sure signs that you grew up in the Valley of the Sun: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You’ve run into some kind of cactus at least once.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You’ve road tripped to Rocky Point.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“Winter” is a foreign concept to you.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You've melted crayons on the sidewalk just for fun⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You still don't know what Daylight Savings is... and one thing is CERTAIN, you grew up going to Metro Center Mall! It was THE mall. Arizona’s first two story mall, and said to be the first mall west of the Mississippi River to have five department stores. It was the place to go, to shop, be seen and have a great time. Sadly in most recent years, stores vacated little by little. And now COVID-19 has ultimately sealed the malls fate. General manager Kim Ramirez had this to say, “Despite our best efforts to bring value back to the mall, to complete maintenance projects and increase foot traffic the drop in occupancy levels due to the COVID-19 pandemic can no longer sustain the operation of this large property.” June 30th is the official closing date. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
